
Luxembourg has risen three places on the Corruption Perceptions Index compiled by the non-governmental organisation Transparency International, achieving a score of 81 out of a possible 100 points, moving from 8th to 5th position.
This puts the Grand Duchy among the top five countries globally, with only four nations – Denmark, Finland, Singapore, and New Zealand – performing better in terms of corruption levels.
At the other end of the spectrum, Somalia and South Sudan occupy the bottom two spots, reflecting the highest levels of corruption.
Transparency International’s report for this year places a special focus on the connection between corruption and the fight against climate change, emphasising the need for transparency to address global environmental challenges.
Denmark continues to lead the index for the seventh consecutive year, with an impressive score of 90.
