It must have been quite a disappointing experience for the 75 LuxairTours holiday-makers who were denied boarding on their flight back to Luxembourg. The reason was because of insufficient oxygen bottles on board.
This information was shared today shortly before noon by Luxair Group in response to a witness testimony published in a newspaper from the Lorraine region.
The situation arose because a passenger on the inbound flight to Turkey required an oxygen bottle, resulting in a shortage for the return journey.
Luxair clarified that they could only accommodate 90 passengers on the flight back to Luxembourg, as transporting more would have been illegal without an adequate supply of oxygen bottles.
While the affected passengers had to spend an unexpected night in Antalya, Luxair ensured that their stay in a hotel was fully compensated, along with their “return flight” the following day.
The incident occurred over the last weekend of April, with the original flight scheduled for Saturday and the affected passengers eventually returning home on Sunday.
