Starting on 27 October passengers were able to access the port city starting at just 99€, initially five times a week. This was reduced to three times a week due to a lack of passengers.

Luxair has now announced that the route will be cancelled as of 31 January.

The Luxembourgish airline cited challenges in securing slots at Rotterdam The Hague Airport during the summer period as the reason for the cancellation. This was confirmed by the airline on Thursday afternoon to RTL Today stating, “Despite intense and constructive exchanges with the airport and Dutch Slot Coordination, we were unfortunately unable to obtain the necessary slots in due time to continue operations and will redeploy the capacity to other routes.”

They are not the first airline to have encountered the problem, SWISS, who wanted to establish a route between Zurich and Rotterdam encountered the same issue last year.
