Luxair on Tuesday evening confirmed that two of its flights had to be cancelled, with officials assuring that passenger safety had not been endangered.

The first cancellation impacted a return flight from Sal, Cape Verde, to Luxembourg (LG352). The flight was postponed until Wednesday due to “a technical issue preventing its departure”, according to a press release. The company reassured that passengers “are assisted by LuxairTours and the team in Sal to provide them with the best possible solutions to meet their needs”.

The second cancellation impacted an aircraft heading to Porto (LG3767), which was forced to return to Findel Airport instead of heading to Portugal as expected. The pilot, upon turning the aircraft around, is said to have informed passengers about the move without communicating any further reasons. Once again, the airline assured passengers that another flight out would take them to Porto on Wednesday.

Luxair insists that, in both cases, the security of the passengers had not been at risk.
