On Thursday, the Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party (LSAP) issued a press release urging the government to prioritise investments in the country’s energy infrastructure.
The party also called on Minister of the Economy and Energy Lex Delles to appear before the relevant parliamentary committee. The LSAP has requested that the minister clarify whether the state is permitted to make such investments and outline the government’s concrete plans in this area.
The LSAP emphasised that the power grid plays a critical role as the backbone of the energy transition. According to the opposition party, it must be equipped to handle the growing demands of renewable energy, electromobility, heat pumps, and digitalisation. The party further highlighted the need for the grid to be “modern and robust,” while advocating for measures to encourage private-sector investment in its development.
