In the presence of European Commissioner for Budget Johannes Hahn, the listing of the first Green Bond in the context of the “Next Generation EU” recovery package was officially launched at the Luxembourg Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
Last week, the European Commission also placed the first green loan of over €12 billion. The revenues are exclusively used for green and sustainable investments across the EU. Prime Minister Xavier Bettel stressed that in the future, Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange will be “a strong partner” in green and sustainable finance. The financial centre’s commitment to sustainable finance will be further strengthened, Bettel stated.
