Lex Delles will thus take over the DP presidency from Corinne Cahen, who officially resigned at noon on Sunday. The 300 party members who convened at the Atert Centre in Bertrange thanked Cahen for her service with a standing ovation.

Delles, who is also Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Minister for Tourism, was the only candidate to run for the DP presidency. He received 98.95% of the votes.

Max Hahn has been elected vice president, beating Marc Hansen and Claude Lamberty with 91.9% of the votes.
