Last Sunday, the Graduation Ceremony of ISL took place at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg. This year’s class had one particularity: it was the largest graduating class in the last 60 years of the International School. Families, friends, teachers and board members came together to praise the students’ achievements and watch their transition into a new and exciting life chapter.

The Upper School Principal Iain Fish, who was also the master of ceremonies, and Dr. David J. Condon, the director of ISL, warmly welcomed the graduating class. They expressed their appreciation for the graduates’ dedication and achievements in a heartfelt manner. In addition, they extended their gratitude to the families and staff members who supported the students along the way.

There were, of course, also student speakers representing their year. Zian Hajee was elected by his fellow students to share words of encouragement while emphasizing the beauty of each individual journey to success. Liam Smith, the student speaker elected by the faculty, applauded the resilience of his class and the many meaningful relationships he developed during his time at ISL.

During the ceremony the students showed that they weren’t only academically talented, but also pursued hobbies such as music and dance, showcased in various performances.

The closing advice Iain Fish shared with his students was to embrace failures or setbacks as opportunities to learn and grow, to take risks in life and to confront their next chapter of life with courage, strength and endurance.
