Josy Hames, the local councillor from Käerjeng and member of the Alternative Democratic Reform Party (ADR), died suddenly at the age of 73, the municipality confirmed in a statement.

Hames served as a councillor on the Käerjeng municipal council for 24 years. He represented the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) for much of that time before joining the ADR in September 2022, following a dispute over comments he had made about the youth wing of The Greens (déi gréng).

Hames, who lived in Bascharage, was a widower and had one son.
