At the end of January, the municipal administration building in Junglinster caught fire and was partially destroyed by flames, and it is still uncertain when the facilities can be used again. In the third building, which was initially spared from direct fire damage, issues have arisen because of the use of water during firefighting operations.
It took a total of 36 hours to gain complete control over the fire.
As of now, municipal services have been temporarily relocated to the old municipality at the main crossroads and plans are in place to relocate the municipal administration to a new building in the local ‘Lënster Bierg’ industrial zone come May.
Weddings are anticipated to be held in the town’s cultural centre as well as the Bourglinster castle. However, it is important to note that an authorisation from the relevant ministry is still pending.
In a recent interview with newspaper Tageblatt, the Bourglinster Mayor explained that the investigation led by police and the public prosecutor’s office was completed last week. Since then, cleanup efforts have started.
