The Young Greens are proud of increasing influence of their party, which has been in government as a member of the coalition since 2013. The youth wing elected Meris Sehovic, 27, and Jessie Thill, 22, as their spokespeople. Both Sehovic and Thill are candidates for the European elections.

Meris Sehovic also highlighted the number of aspects in the government agreement that show the influence of the Greens. The most notable examples, according to Sehovic, are the plans to subsidise public transport entirely and the legalisation of recreational marijuana.

Three members of the Young Greens are on the party's list of candidates for the European elections. Sehovic stressed that 2019 is the year to signal the importance of Europe and to stand against populists throughout the world who are trying to undermine the fundamental existence of the European Union.

Jessie Thill, in her speech, also underlined the typically Green priorities, such as fighting climate change, pollution, and advocating gender equality.
