Eric Leyder of Ambiance Jardins joined Steps and Sasha in the studio this week to talk about the event coming up this weekend.

70 stands from 7 countries will be present at the horticultural event, he explains. Most guests come to speak to professional gardeners, see plants and decorations for balconies and gardens, try out furniture and be inspired by new ideas.

There are also five winemakers showcasing their products, with one Luxembourgish producer based in Tuscany who is coming back to Luxembourg specifically for Ambiance Jardins. There is entertainment for children as well.

So what are the latest trends in garden furniture? “It’s more modern, a lot of white, clear furniture. A few years ago it was darker,” explains Leyder, but colours, too, have been making a comeback.

The event is not just meant for experienced gardeners - whether you’re a absolute DIY professional or just have a curious mind, everyone is welcome and all questions can be answered by the experts on site. For example, what plants work well in the shade? How can I smartly design my balcony garden?

Interesting to note are also the garden architects - whether you’re looking for an Italian garden, classical garden, romantic garden, English garden...anything is possible and these pros can advise you on what can be done.

Tickets are €7 for adults and free under 16, but remain valid all weekend. The event runs Friday, 12 May between 2-7pm, Saturday, 13 May between 10am-7pm and Sunday, 14 May between 10am-6pm.
