During the week of 9 to 15 November, the number of positive cases dropped slightly by 120 compared to the previous week, with 4,013 testing positive for the virus.

The number of contact cases has reduced by 29%, and 67,734 tests were conducted, compared to 69,079 the previous week.

However, although infection rates have dropped slightly, the analysis of the country's sewage treatment plants does not confirm a decline in the virus. Although the epidemic is slowing somewhat, the situation is still fragile, as the Prime Minister and Minister of Health insisted in a press briefing on Tuesday.

While signs are pointing to an overall decline in certain indicators, suggesting the potential for improvement, the death toll cannot be denied. Over the last week alone, 39 people died of the virus, four more than the previous week. On average the age of the virus' victims since the pandemic broke out lies at around 85 years old. The Ministry of Health also noted an increase in the circulation of the virus among residents between the ages of 15 and 34, while the epidemic is slowing among other age categories.

The 15-29 age group is currently the worst affected, following by the over 75s, and those aged between 30 and 34. The number of infections in children aged 0 to 14 has reduced and the incidence rate remains lower than among adults.

The number of people placed in quarantine or in isolation is decreasing (-11%) but many infections are still taking place without a distinct origin traced by the contact tracing team.
