At around 11am on Saturday, police intervened on Route d’Arlon in Strassen after receiving a tip-off about a man attempting to sign mobile phone contracts using a evidently fake identity card.
Officers quickly confirmed the document was counterfeit, prompting a search of the individual, who was found to be in possession of seven fake French identity cards. The suspect attempted to flee but was caught after a brief pursuit.
He was arrested on the order of the public prosecutor’s office and placed in the Sanem police detention center pending further legal proceedings.
