Costs for the construction project are expected to surpass €70 million. The goal is to change both access and exit from the A4 motorway near Pontpierre, which currently force drivers to cross an entire residential area. Elected officials now hope to solve the problem with the construction of a roundabout.

On the one hand, it is expected that the installment will help ease pressure from local roads and increase the quality of life for residents. On the other hand, the roundabout will contribute to the improved connection between Luxembourg City and Esch-sur-Alzette, as Minister for Mobility and Public Works François Bausch highlighted: "It will help link towns like Pontpierre and Mondercange to the existing network. Furthermore, we are preparing ahead with designated bus lanes, potential room for tram rails, as well as a secured cycling lane. Naturally, we will not forget about cars."

Parts of the project have already been launched and completed, including the relocation of a petrol station, and the installment of gas pipes.
