The vehicle crashed into a building on Rue de Wilwedange at around 5.45am on Saturday and burst into flames. When the emergency services arrived on the scene, the car was completely burnt out and the fire had spread to the house, blocking the entry to the home.
The residents were freed from the building by a collaborative effort between the emergency services and neighbours. Fortunately, no one was injured and local fire crews were able to extinguish the flames.
The driver of the car was still on the scene and was treated for minor injuries. He was later fined due to testing positive for drugs and alcohol. The road was closed to traffic until around 10am.
