Despite the lifting of coronavirus restrictions at the weekend, citizens are permitted to wear face coverings if they so wish. Claude Braun, medical director of the Hôpitaux Robert Schuman group, has advised patients with coronavirus symptoms or breathing issues to continue wearing masks, while visitors and staff at the hospitals are equally advised to wear face coverings in the event of symptoms such as cough, fever, sore throat and runny nose.
Dr Martine Goergen of the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg told RTL the hospital would only test patients displaying symptoms of a coronavirus infection. Meanwhile, systematic PCR testing has concluded, according to the Anja Di Bartolomeo of the Centre Hospitalier du Nord.
Patients displaying symptoms will be tested and isolated for five days if the test returns a positive result. Dr Goergen added that the isolation period would end once symptoms abated.
Patients at the Centre Hospitalier du Nord may receive up to two visitors per day, while Luxembourg’s other hospitals, the CHL, CHEM and HRS, have lifted all visitor restrictions. Visitors with flu symptoms, however, should wear face coverings and keep a distance, or not visit at all.
There are no Covid restrictions left in Servior retirement and care homes, said spokesperson Nathalie Hank. “Covid will be treated like any other virus.” The Servior homes will treat the virus much like the flu, while there will be no need for residents to isolate with a Covid infection. Masks are also no longer mandatory.
