The storm front initially expected for Monday finally reached Luxembourg on Tuesday. Heavy rainfall was reported in the centre and south of the country at 2pm.

Météolux reacted to the arrival of the storm front by placing the country under yellow alert. According to the weather station, the alert is valid until 9am tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Luxembourg Motoring Association (ACL) has issued a warning to motorists currently on the road in the Grand Duchy, due to the heavy precipitation increasing the danger of aquaplaning.

An accident has already taken place shortly before 2pm on the A13 motorway. All the more reason to be careful if you plan to drive in the next few hours.

In view of the situation, traffic congestion can be expected during rush hour. No flooding has been reported so far but this could change during the day.

France's Grand Est region is also under yellow alert and several communes in the Vosges department have been strongly affected by the storm front which is currently threatening the whole of the Greater Region.

More details can be expected later today.
