Presidents and monarchsGrand Duke Henri hosts German-speaking leaders for annual meeting in Luxembourg

RTL Today
On 16 and 17 September, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg and his wife, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, are hosting the 20th annual informal meeting of the heads of state from German-speaking countries.

Among the attending leaders (or their representatives) were Grand Duke Henri, King Philippe of Belgium, and Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein. Switzerland, Germany, and Austria were also represented at the gathering.

Held this year in Luxembourg, the event aims to strengthen the friendly ties between nations that share a common language. The meeting, informal by nature, allows the presidents and monarchs to engage in relaxed discussions and get to know each other better, including their spouses.

During this two-day gathering, various current issues were discussed in working sessions.

On the second day, presentations and a dialogue on new media and misinformation will be held at the University of Luxembourg, adding a modern dimension to the traditional event.

Now in its 20th edition, this annual meeting continues to foster relationships between the leaders of German-speaking nations while addressing contemporary challenges.
