According to a statement from the Court, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa recently underwent a planned surgical procedure, which was successful. As part of her recovery, she will need to rely on crutches for some time.
Even so, she was able to join Grand Duke Henri on Tuesday to welcome the children who came to visit for Liichtmëssdag.
