The Luxembourg government will conduct a national SMS test on Monday, 3 February 2025, as part of its ongoing efforts to refine the “LU-Alert” system, which aims to improve public communication during emergencies.

The test will include a monthly check of the siren network alongside the SMS test. The test message will be sent out simultaneously via the “LU-Alert” mobile app and the website www.lu-alert.lu.

The government has clarified that no action is required from the public, as it is simply a test. The Ministry of State, along with other relevant institutions, emphasized that people do not need to respond or take any special precautions.

It is important to note that the “LU-Alert” system does not require any subscriptions. Therefore, all mobile devices connected to a Luxembourg mobile network antenna at the time of the test will receive the message.
