The Government Council of Luxembourg has approved five new national action plans to tackle noise pollution and to reduce the number of new zones prone to noise.

During the session held on 15 April, the Government Council approved five action plans to tackle noise pollution in Luxembourg during. These include concrete measures to reduce the impact of noise on the environment, as well as to prevent the noise from occurring in the first place.

The plans take into account noise from traffic, the railways, the airport near the capital, and other areas in southern Luxembourg affected by the issue.

The aim is to maintain quiet zones in urban areas.
