In a session held on Wednesday, the Government Council approved the appointment of four individuals to key leadership roles within the Grand Ducal Police.

Effective from 15 May 2024, Kristin Schmit will assume the role of Central Director of the Criminal Police, while Tom Didlinger will step into the position of Central Director of Strategy and Performance.

Thierry Fehr is slated to start his duties as Central Director of the Administrative Police on 1 June, while Francis Lutgen will take on the responsibilities of Central Director of Resources and Skills starting 1 August 2024.

The appointments of Pascal Peters and Alain Engelhardt as successors to Police Chief Philippe Schrantz and Deputy Chief Donat Donven, respectively, were announced in March. With the addition of the four newly appointed central directors, the management committee of the Grand Ducal Police will undergo a complete overhaul in August. This reshuffle is attributed to the simultaneous retirement of several members of the management team.
