The Grand Ducal police reported a number of break-ins and muggings over the past few hours. At 12.20pm on Thursday, police were alerted to a shoplifting incident in the capital’s Gare district. Two suspects, one male and one female, were attempting to steal perfume and cosmetics from a shop when they were caught by the store’s security guard. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered stolen items and cash during a search of the suspects. The two were arrested by order of the public prosecutor’s office and written up.

In Bonnevoie, two people were attacked at a tram stop. They were approached by a group of individuals, who forced them away from the platform and down a different road. One victim was physically attacked and had his jacket stolen. The perpetrators then ran away from the scene. Police launched an investigation into the incident but were unable to locate the attackers during the initial search.

Numerous burglaries occurred on Thursday, as a family home was targeted for its valuables in Saeul. Meanwhile, in Cessange, intruders broke into a building with multiple dwellings and stole an undefined number of gold bars.
