
MP Michel Wolter from the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) questioned how many vaccinated individuals are still in contact with the virus in a parliamentary question to the health minister.
In her reply, she stated that the available data proves that fully vaccinated individuals are less likely to be infected.
In mid-August, 330 of 440 new infections affected people who were either unvaccinated or only partially vaccinated. Unvaccinated individuals thus account for 75% of positive cases. In July, the rate also varied between 76 and 83%.
On Wednesday, the government will decide on the text of the new Covid-19 law, which has to be passed by the Chamber of Deputies before 15 September.
Following the presentation of the new draft bill by the government, the responsible Parliamentary Commission will assess the text on Thursday. Last week, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel already hinted at the fact that the current measures are unlikely to be eased.
