The four young people are Afghan and Burundian nationals. They were met at the airport by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Reception Office (ONA).

A further 12 young unaccompanied refugees are scheduled to travel to Luxembourg on 15 April, bringing the total to 16.

Following the fire which occurred in the Moria camp on the Greek island of Lesbos at the beginning of September 2020, Luxembourg has participated in the relocation of refugees from Greece with the aim of alleviating the precarious situation in the overcrowded refugee camps.

25 refugees have been accommodated in the Grand Duchy, thus fulfilling the commitments made to Greece in 2020.
