
Shortly before midnight, the police received reports of an accident that had occurred on Rue du Bois in Limpertsberg. While one of the drivers had fled the scene, police officers were able to find them at their home. The driver was taken to the police station and had to take a breathalyser test, which came back positive. As a result, their driving licence was confiscated. Both cars involved in the crash were damaged beyond repair.
At around 0.22am on Saturday, witnesses in Esch-Belval reported a car that was driving erratically and above the legal speed limit. Police were able to pull the driver over, and could confirm that they were intoxicated. They had to hand over their licence on the spot.
Another drunk driver was pulled over by police in Dudelange. In this case, the driver was fined.
At about 4.14am, police in Differdange noticed a car that had been stationed both on the pavement and a pedestrian crossing near the Rue de Soleuvre – Rue Woiwer intersection. When the presumed driver returned to their car, the officers informed them about the regulations in place. However, the driver constantly interrupted the officers and stationed their car on a nearby parking spot shortly after. At this point, the police wanted to check the driver, however, the latter was very uncooperative and insulted the officers. The police ended up taking the individual to the police station, where they had to take a breathalyser test. The driver turned out to be intoxicated and the officers filed a complaint for insulting a public official and driving under the influence against them.
