
Unsurprisingly, the Luxembourgish economy is dependant on the foreign workforce.
Since border controls between Luxembourg and Germany were set-up in May 2020, a great many of the cross-border workforce have fallen back on home office to conduct their daily employment duties.
In the meantime, Germany has introduced mandatory tests for Czech cross-border workers, who now have to present a negative test result twice a week.
At the moment, there is no mandatory test in Luxembourg for German cross-border workers.
Hopes that borders will remain open throughout the remainder of the pandemic, as the popular view is that many do not find checks to be an efficient solution to the problem.
