According to Meteolux, “light snowfall” occurred in some locations during the night from Monday to Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to fall: a cooler Tuesday with a maximum of 2°C. The sky will remain cloudy, but the wind gusts are set to weaken.

Furthermore, the flood forecasting service has initiated a hydrological watch for the Sûre, the Alzette, the Syre, and the Chiers. A yellow alert was maintained for the whole day on Monday.

All rivers are expected to have reached their maximum water levels on Sunday afternoon. However, the yellow alert is maintained until 10am on Tuesday because, despite forecasts predicting a drop, “slight and short-lived rises cannot be excluded”.

The situation on the Moselle is different from that on other rivers: the water rises much more slowly and the level can still be regulated to some extent with the help of locks. Flooding is expected on the Moselle from Monday to Tuesday. According to Jean-Paul Lickes from the Water Management Authority, maritime traffic on the river might be temporarily disrupted in the foreseeable future.
