A fire broke out in a field near Consdorf, Mullerthal, destroying a section of pine forest nearby.
A high number of fire engines were deployed to battle the flames, setting up a shuttle service to ensure sufficient water supply in the area. Mullerthal, due to its topography, can often pose a challenge for fire fighters attempting to reach waterways.
The CGDIS confirmed the fire was under control later on Sunday afternoon, although emergency services will remain on the scene for some time to complete their duties.
