As of 24 August, fifty cases of monkeypox have now been registered in Luxembourg, reports the Ministry of Health.

So far, the patients are all men with an average age of 37 years. Two patients were shortly hospitalised, but have since left the hospital.

Since 16 August, people in a risk group can be vaccinated against monkeypox at the National Infectious Diseases Department. As of 24 August, 284 people are vaccinated, while 1,029 have registered for a first or second vaccination. You can make an appointment for this on (+352) 4411-3129.

Luxembourg has received a new delivery of 200 vaccine doses from the Netherlands to meet the high demand. With the 1,600 doses now available in the Grand Duchy, approximately 800 people can still be vaccinated.
