Police have reported five arrests over the weekend in cases involving fraud, car theft, and drug trafficking, according to the latest bulletin.

Arrests after knife-point car theft

In the Ville Haute neighbourhood of Luxembourg City, police responded to a robbery overnight between Saturday and Sunday. The victim, who reportedly knew his attackers, was injured with a knife, had his car keys stolen, and his vehicle taken.

After the victim was hospitalised for treatment, officers located the vehicle, arrested three suspects, and recovered the car. Two of the three were subsequently detained on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office and brought before an examining magistrate on Sunday afternoon.

‘Money Mule’ arrested in fraud case

A separate individual was brought before an examining magistrate on Sunday morning after being arrested on Saturday. The suspect was detained in connection with a fraud scheme, acting as a ‘money mule’.

Drug bust in Esch-sur-Alzette

In Esch-sur-Alzette on Sunday afternoon, police were alerted to two suspected drug dealers at Place de la Résistance. Officers found the suspects in possession of drugs, cash, and multiple mobile phones. A plastic bag containing additional drugs was also discovered nearby. A subsequent search of one suspect’s home yielded further narcotics, a scale, and more cash. Both individuals were arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office and appeared before an examining magistrate on Monday morning.
