Around 5,000 people joined a feminist march in Luxembourg City on Saturday, organised by the JIF platform to demand systemic changes, including pension reform and constitutional abortion rights.

Approximately 5,000 participants joined the feminist march organised by the JIF (Journée Internationale de la Femme) platform on Saturday afternoon in Luxembourg City to mark International Women’s Day. The event began at 3pm on Place de Paris, with demonstrators rallying to highlight key social and gender equality issues.

The JIF platform, which coordinated the march, aims to raise awareness of its demands and amplify its voice in the face of rising antifeminist movements, fascism, social injustices, and gender-based violence.

Among the key demands for 2025, the JIF platform called for a modernised pension system that does not undermine current protections, particularly in light of the planned pension reform. Other priorities include enshrining the right to abortion in Luxembourg’s constitution and strengthening measures to protect children from domestic violence.
