Many questions around the new Covid vaccine remain unanswered, which leaves a great number of people with doubts in their minds. Dr Schockmel from Hôpitaux Robert Schuman has now provided insight into the nature of the novel RNA vaccine.
He explained that the body continuously absorbs such molecular sequences throughout the span of life, enabling it to respond to illnesses and infections. The vaccine is thereby considered especially important for at-risk patients, as it does not include living or weakened viral organisms.
Dr Schockmel further underlined that it would be important for everybody to get vaccinated, even those that already recovered from the virus. Only those who suffered critically under the disease are considered to have developed a sufficient amount of antibodies. Even though the coronavirus mutates, it only does so in minor ways, meaning that the current vaccine model should remain adequate, Dr Schockmel also conveyed.
The infectious disease will be present during tonight's edition of the "Journal" on RTL.lu to provide further insight into the vaccine.
