As the summer bathing season begins, UE Luxembourg has posted the rankings of bathing waters across Europe. High on the list are countries such as Cyprus, Austria, and Germany, closely followed by Luxembourg. With 88.2%, Luxembourg has achieved a high ranking, placing 12th in Europe for quality bathing water.
Water quality has improved immensely in the EU due to numerous policies and significant investments by member states in wastewater treatment plants.
Luxembourg offers several excellent swimming lakes, including the Upper Sûre Lake and Weiswampach Lake, both known for their water quality. The lake in Echternach was awarded good water quality.
One thing is certain: with summer approaching, you can enjoy Luxembourg’s lakes without any worries.
