This new endeavour offers an eco-friendly alternative to traditional car travel, introducing the Taxivëlo, or “taxi bicycle,” to the town.
The municipal council, in collaboration with the Local Initiative and Management Council (CIGL), has implemented this project as part of their commitment to the Climate Pact.
The Taxivëlo is a type of “futuristic and aerodynamic rickshaw,” equipped with three wheels and able to accommodate up to two passengers.

Residents and visitors alike will now have the opportunity to experience this innovative mode of transportation, with three Taxivëlo units offering service to Place Brill and the Universitéit district for a two-month trial period.
The designated route will include the Vëlodukt cycle bridge, which was inaugurated in December 2022.
At present, the project is still in its test phase and will only operate on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between 12pm and 5.30pm, with departures scheduled every 30 minutes.
