A suspicious package prompted a major emergency response at the POST Luxembourg facility in Bettembourg on Wednesday.

Emergency services responded to a report of a parcel containing a suspicious substance at the POST Luxembourg sorting centre in Bettembourg on Wednesday afternoon. A significant deployment of the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) was on the scene at the Krakelshaff facility. Police units, including a dog handler, were also present, in addition to the Emergency Medical Assistance Team (SAMU) and customs agents.

The operation was triggered by reports of a package containing a suspicious substance. After about one hour, the authorities lifted the alert and stated that it had been a false alarm.
