Kleos Space S.A. was founded in 2017 and settled in the Grand Duchy to support the country's space mining initiative. Their satellites are used to monitor the oceans. 15 people usually work at the Luxembourg City office, although many have by now switched to remote work.
The space mining project dates back to Etienne Schneider's time in the administration. Since his withdrawal from politics, Minister of the Economy Franz Fayot has taken over the contentious initiative.
