Mouveco criticised statements made by the House of Automobile regarding the new emission standards.

To put things into perspective: the House of Automobile had taken issue with the introduction of new emission standards from 1 March and the increased car tax for new vehicles.

Mouveco argued that it was a shame that some representatives of the automobile sector were trying to postpone the publication of actual emission values. The association explained that the sector had been informed about the incoming changes in legislation years ago - and that other European countries had long adopted similar measures.

A purposeful postponement of the new system would be unacceptable both for consumers and for the climate, regardless of whether or not verbal agreements were made with the ministry, Mouveco argued.

The association added that the automobile sector's approach to the issue made it look like they intentionally refused to inform clients objectively. In this context, Mouveco demanded that the car industry inform prospective clients objectively and competently at the incoming car festival.
