An e-scooter rider was spotted travelling at speed on rue de Schifflange in Schifflange on Sunday afternoon, overtaking several cars in quick succession before losing control and falling from the vehicle.
A subsequent check revealed that the scooter was travelling well in excess of the legal speed limit. On the orders of the prosecutor’s office, the e-scooter was seized and a report drawn up.
E-scooters in Luxembourg are classified as micro electric vehicles (MVE) and may not exceed a maximum design speed of 25 km/h, as per the Grand Ducal police’s official website.
