Hesperange mayor and CSV MP Marc Lies had submitted a parliamentary question on the duration of the roadworks, which will eventually see the A3 motorway extended with a third lane.
Minister Bausch said the ongoing works were expected to last just shy of another two years, but added that the third lane would have multiple uses depending on the traffic situation, through the use of dynamic signalling.
The minister was unable to provide a start date for the construction of the Hesperange interchange. Bausch also declined to offer further details on the “Midfield” development in the south of the capital, although he did add that the redesign of the Gluck roundabout in Gasperich would likely commence in early 2024.
