CGDISDrunk driving and expired road certificates lead to police revoking licenses

On Tuesday night, multiple individuals were apprehended by the police due to to drunk driving and expired Contrôle Technique certificates.

The police were immediately alerted to a vehicle suspiciously parked on the sidewalk with all four blinkers on in the Rue du Commerce in the City. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that neither the driver nor the car’s roadworthiness certificates were compliant. Subsequently, the driver underwent a breathalyzer test, which returned a positive result - a report was established.

During a vehicle check on Rue des Glacis in the City on Tuesday night, a strong smell of alcohol was detected by a police patrol. The alcohol test confirmed this suspicion. Additionally, it was found that the vehicle’s MOT had expired, resulting in the driver receiving a provisional driving ban.

Furthermore, two more intoxicated drivers were spotted due to their erratic driving behavior. Between Grevels and Kehlen, a vehicle was seen zigzagging on the road, while on the Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge in the City, a driver was traveling at 86 km per hour instead of the maximum allowed 50 km per hour. Reports were established in both instances.
