Police, firefighters and ambulance services had a busy weekend, with several incidents across the country. Thankfully, there were no fatal accidents.

On Saturday at 11PM Police stopped a drunk driver in Sandweiler who was driving dangerously, zigzagging from one side of the road to the other.

The officers quickly realised that the driver had too much to drink and gave him a verbal warning. His driving license was seized on the spot after a positive breathalyser test.

A fire in the industrial zone “Gadderscheier” in Sanem then led to a large-scale deployment of firefighters and first responders. On Sunday morning at 2:15AM units were scrambled from six different stations.

According to a CGDIS bulletin, one person was injured in the incident.

The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps confirmed to RTL that it was in fact a fire. According to RTL sources, the fire was relatively small, and the injured person was taken to hospital out of precaution.

At 11:28AM on Sunday, an accident occurred in the industrial zone Scheleck 3 in Bettembourg, in which one person was injured. Firefighters and first responders were called to the scene.

At 1:15PM firefighters were in action in Limpertzberg where a church had caught fire; no one was injured in the incident.

Lastly, a tree had fallen on the road between Dondelange and Kehlen. RTL was told that local drivers tried to get the obstacle off the road again.
