A police operation along the Bettembourg-Esch railway line on Wednesday led to the seizure of drugs and an illegal knife, with several individuals fined for narcotics possession.

On Wednesday afternoon, between 4.45pm and 6pm, the Luxembourg police conducted a large-scale operation along the Bettembourg-Esch railway line, focusing on compliance with drug and immigration laws.

During the operation, 15 individuals suspected of possessing narcotics were subjected to detailed checks. One person was found with a small quantity of hashish and received a fine. Two others were found carrying approximately 4.6 g of hashish, an illegal knife, and 29 g of marijuana – were also fined.

Additionally, a person who had been reported to the police was checked as part of the operation. A total of 18 police officers and three drug-detection dogs from the canine unit were involved in the effort.
