According to the police report, a total of 94 motorists were checked between 10.30pm and 3am, but only four of them were sanctioned as they tested positive for alcohol.
Two tickets and two fines were issued, but no licence was withdrawn on the spot.
Further checks were conducted between Differdange and Soleuvre, where the police officers caught an intoxicated driver based on his suspicious driving style.
As his breathalyser test proved that the driver’s blood alcohol level clearly exceeded the legal limit, the officers had no choice but to withdraw his driving licence.
