At around 6pm on Friday, police were called to a car park near the Porte de France after motorists reported they could not leave due to a vehicle blocking the exit.
The security guard who notified the police said he had seen the driver abandon the vehicle before casually walking off to go shopping nearby. In addition, the vehicle’s engine had been left running.
When the driver returned to collect his vehicle, the security guard noticed the man was visibly intoxicated. Police pulled the car over and performed a breathalyser test, with positive results.
