Thanks to the help of security camera networks, the location of the driver was swiftly determined.
The driver in question realised he was going in the wrong direction and turned his car around at the Colmar-Berg exit.
The police stopped the driver soon after in order to check that all was well. As it turned out, he was still in the probation period of his new license and not qualified to drive a gear-shift car.
The vehicle was subsequently seized by order of the prosecutor's office.
