
On 7 November, around 3pm, a traffic accident occurred on Rue Antoine-François van der Meulen in Dommeldange. Following the collision, one of the involved vehicles departed the scene without addressing the damage it caused. There were no reported injuries. The evading vehicle was quickly located by the police, and the driver was asked to take an alcohol test, which yielded a positive result. Consequently, their driving licence was confiscated.
Later, at approximately 8.25pm, a vehicle was observed struggling to maintain its lane on the CR121 in Junglinster. Police officers soon located the vehicle and administered an alcohol test to the driver, who also tested positive and was issued a temporary driving ban.
During a check on Tuesday night along Rue Principale in Ernster, law enforcement officers detected the smell of cannabis emanating from a driver being examined for alcohol consumption. As a result, the driver underwent an immediate on-site drug test, which confirmed a positive result. The driver’s licence was confiscated.
In the early morning hours, a police patrol in Luxembourg City‘s Gare neighbourhood, specifically on Rue de Strasbourg, identified a vehicle with its engine running and the driver slumped behind the wheel. Upon inspection, it was evident that the driver was not only asleep but also under the influence of alcohol, as substantiated by a breathalyser test. A provisional driving ban was imposed.
On Tuesday, the police conducted alcohol checks in Imbringen and Ernster on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office. Out of 86 drivers screened, two registered positive results for alcohol consumption. In one of these cases, the individual’s driving licence was confiscated. In addition, five fines were issued for violations of other road traffic regulations during the inspections.
