Police reported several arrests during the weekend.

On Saturday morning at 4.30am, a man was robbed by two people in Clausen. The perpetrators had engaged the victim in conversation to distract him, before stealing his mobile phone and cash. Both then fled the scene.

Police were able to locate the two suspects shortly afterwards. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, they were arrested and brought before the investigating judge.

A further assault took place on Sunday afternoon on Place de la Gare in Luxembourg City. The perpetrator violently ripped a chain from a man's neck before fleeing towards Bonnevoie. A police patrol later found the suspect back at the railway station and arrested him.

Another arrest was made on Saturday following a road accident in Petit-Nobressart that had been reported to police. A motorist had crashed into a pushchair carrying a child.

The child was taken to hospital with a broken leg. It later emerged that the driver had been under the influence of alcohol. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, he was arrested and the car was seized.
