In the early hours of Sunday morning, police intervened in multiple cases involving intoxicated drivers.
In the first incident, around 3am, officers responded to the scene of a reported accident in Diekirch. Upon arrival, they found a crashed vehicle and a damaged gate on private property. Two witnesses informed that the driver had fled on foot. The man was located shortly after and admitted to being behind the wheel and to having consumed alcohol. He tested positive in a breathalyzer test. His driver’s license was confiscated, and he was issued a temporary driving ban.
At around 1.30am, a police patrol spotted a car overtaking dangerously on Place de la Gare in Luxembourg City. The driver, who showed visible signs of intoxication including red eyes and slow reactions, tested positive for alcohol. He also received a temporary driving ban.
Later, around 6am, authorities were alerted to a car swerving between lanes on the A6 motorway. The vehicle was stopped near the Strassen exit. The driver, once again under the influence, tested positive and was banned from driving temporarily.
